Our Legacy
Best Cast was founded in 1974 in Chennai, India, by Mr. S. R. Kabirdass. Since then, the company has invested steadily in modern machinery and technology, allowing it to keep pace with demand while maintaining high standards of quality. Over the years, Best Cast has built partnerships with customers in the United States, Europe and Asia.
We have adopted environmentally responsible practices to reduce our impact on the environment, including energy-saving processes, waste reduction and recycling programmes. S. R. Kabirdass is a highly skilled and experienced individual in the aluminium foundry industry. He is the founder of Best Cast and has achieved several milestones throughout his career. One of his most notable achievements was developing the first aluminium car wheels for the Indian and Asian markets.

Murali Kabirdass, our esteemed Chairman and Managing Director, has been leading Best Cast, a family-held business, to great success since 1987. He has successfully spearheaded the company’s global expansion by acquiring a multitude of customers across the world. His forward-thinking concepts, including tilt pouring, have been instrumental in propelling the company to new heights. Murali Kabirdass has successfully implemented forward and backward integration strategies, among other initiatives, to drive the company’s growth. Joint Managing Director
Mr. Shreyas M. Kabirdass, Joint Managing Director of Best Cast, is a qualified Manufacturing Engineer and a third-generation entrepreneur with astounding experience in manufacturing operations, commercial strategy and organisational leadership. He joined the company as a Whole-time Director on 1 January 2020.
Passionate about business development, he combines expertise in die casting, metallurgical process control, precision CNC machining, tooling design, thermal engineering and industrial automation. His track record in delivering complex engineering initiatives reflects his commitment to strengthening process capability, product integrity and operational efficiency.
Looking ahead, his vision encompasses lightweight alloys with lower embodied carbon, advanced melting systems, AI-assisted multiphysics modelling and die-casting equipment developed in-house. He aims to integrate adaptive robotics, intelligent machine vision, autonomous equipment diagnostics and additive manufacturing for rapid prototyping into connected production systems.
Through this vision, he aims to shape Best Castโs next phase of growth by advancing engineering innovation, manufacturing precision and the sustainable use of materials and energy.
